What types and levels of filtration systems are available for Countertop Water Dispensers?

Publish Time: 2024-07-26
Countertop Water Dispenser has a wide variety of filtration systems with different levels to meet the water quality needs of different users.

Common types of filtration systems include the following. PP cotton filter element filtration is a relatively basic one, mainly used to remove large particles of impurities in water, such as mud, rust, etc. Activated carbon filter elements can absorb discoloration, odor and some organic matter in water to improve the taste of water. Ultrafiltration membrane filtration can filter out smaller impurities, bacteria and viruses, but it cannot remove soluble ions in water. RO reverse osmosis membrane filtration is currently the most sophisticated filtration effect, which can remove almost all impurities in water, including tiny bacteria, viruses, heavy metal ions and soluble salts, and the water produced is close to pure water.

In terms of filtration level, it can usually be divided into primary filtration, medium filtration and high efficiency filtration. Primary filtration is generally composed of PP cotton filter elements, which mainly intercept larger particles. Medium filtration adds activated carbon filter elements to further remove discoloration, odor and some organic matter. High-efficiency filtration usually uses ultrafiltration membrane or RO reverse osmosis membrane, which can provide purer water quality.

For example, some simple countertop water dispensers may only be equipped with primary and medium-efficiency filtration systems, which are suitable for users who do not have particularly high requirements for water quality, but just want to improve the taste and remove obvious impurities. For users who pursue high-quality pure water, countertop water dispensers equipped with high-efficiency filtration systems with RO reverse osmosis membranes are a better choice.

In addition, there are some composite filtration systems that combine multiple different types of filter elements to achieve a more comprehensive filtration effect. For example, a combination of PP cotton + activated carbon + ultrafiltration membrane, or a combination of PP cotton + activated carbon + RO reverse osmosis membrane.

It should be noted that different filtration systems and levels differ in filtration effect, service life and maintenance cost. Although RO reverse osmosis membranes have good filtration effects, they produce more wastewater and the cost of replacing filter elements is relatively high; while ultrafiltration membranes retain beneficial minerals, their filtration effect is slightly inferior to RO reverse osmosis membranes.

When choosing a Countertop Water Dispenser, users should consider the local water quality, their own health needs and economic budget, and choose the appropriate filtration system and level to ensure that they can obtain clean and safe drinking water that meets their needs.
